To enter a university in the United States, you need to pass the TOEFL or IELTS language exams, as well as the SAT, GRE or GMAT. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PATHWAY PROGRAM
Pathway is a program of preparation for admission to US universities and colleges that accept students without additional exams. It gives you the opportunity to enroll in a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD.
The training program lasts from 8 to 24 weeks, depending on the level of language. Students are taught academic English, explained how to write essays, make presentations and give public speeches.
In order for the student to be able to decide on the educational institution and specialty, the school organizes free excursions to the program partners and helps to choose the appropriate option.
PATHWAY STUDENTS ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM AFTER STUDYING WITH GUARANTEED PARTNERS WITHOUT PASSING THE TOEFL, AND OFTEN EVEN WITHOUT THE SAT, GRE AND GMAT.
If a student wants to enter a university or college that does not participate in the program, he will have to pass all the exams. However, the program will help you adapt to the language environment and the North American education system.
HOW TO JOIN THE PATHWAY PROGRAM
You can enter the program from the age of 16 if you have a school certificate and your language level is not lower than Intermediate. If your language level is lower, you first need to take courses to improve your knowledge.
There are two options for minors: living with a host family provided by the school or with relatives. Students over the age of 18 can live on campus or rent housing.
To join the program, you need:
- Select a school and submit an application to Pathway.
- Take an English language test sent to you by the school. An online test will help determine your language level and course duration.
- Pay for the program that the school manager will compile for you, taking into account the level of language.
- Apply for an F1 student visa at the invitation of the school.

FLS BOSTON COMMONS, USA

ADVICES
WORK WHILE STUDYING AT A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY
You cannot work on the Pathway program. But you can start working on campus after entering college or university for 20 hours a week.
This is a good way to start your career earlier and gain useful experience before graduation. If you want to move to the United States, you can obtain a work permit for one to three years after graduating from college or university. During this time, there is a chance to find an employer who will help with emigration.
GO TO COLLEGE
College is cheaper. After completing the second year of college, you can transfer to the third year of university. This will give you a university degree and save you a lot of money.
BE ACTIVE AND STUDY WELL
If you have an interesting portfolio, some achievements or good grades, you can apply for a grant. However, it should be noted that the grant for students enrolled in the Pathway program does not cover the full cost of tuition.
AN INVITATION FROM PATHWAY INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING A VISA
- Embassies are often denied visas after a Work and Travel trip. An invitation from the university or college that your school will send you will increase your chances of getting a student visa.
- Admission to the Pathway program is suitable for those who do not have a visa.
